Texas governor’s effort to curb immigration

The Biden administration tries to intercept Texas immigration policies

One of Governor Abbott’s most recent moves regarding undocumented immigrants at the borders is related to the global COVID-19 pandemic. On Wednesday, July 28, Abbott issued an executive order, which aims to restrict the transport of immigrants since, in his opinion, the massive influx of foreigners could trigger a Coronavirus outbreak in the border territory again.

On Friday, July 30, Biden’s DOJ (Department of Justice) filed a lawsuit against Abbott’s executive order, stating that the Texas governor does not have the power to go against the federal government’s interest regarding immigration and that acting on his own goes against the unification of the nation’s political ideals.
